Do I have enough space for a tennis court?

For a regulation tennis court, you need at least 60' x 120' for the court itself, plus the area typically required by your city or county for setbacks.

I don't have enough space for a regulation tennis court.  What are my options?

There are slight variations to the championship measurements that can be made.  Or, you might consider a multi-purpose game or sports court.

What is a sports court?

A sports court is typically 30' x 60', about half the size of a tennis court.  A sports court is a multi-purpose game court used for paddle tennis, basketball, volleyball and shuffleboard.

Can I use my tennis court for other sports?

Absolutely.  By installing basketball posts and backboards, sleeving for volleyball, and striping for paddle tennis or even shuffleboard, all these other games can be enjoyed.

Why are there cracks on my tennis court?

Natural settlement, expansive soil, and excessive moisture under the slab can all contribute to cracking.  Larger cracks are generally a symptom of the underlying soil conditions.  Concrete, being structurally fortified by rebar or post tensioning, is not as affected by cracking as asphalt.

Why do some courts play so fast?

Courts that are frequently used and are not well-maintained wear out due to surface dust and dirt, which acts like sandpaper.  As you turn and twist, run and stop, the surface is eventually worn away.  Remember, proper court maintenance and regular washing prolong the life of your court.
